Everyone Votes

Everyone Votes consumes the most of my Wii time, partly because answering those questions is fun and goofy, but mostly because staring at aggregate data makes me feel smart.

There's even an arbitrary rating system to tell me I'm smart - here, look.

crudely rendered in MSPaint, as always
I am 70m away from Public Opinion.

With an 87% prediction accuracy, not only am I smart, but also precogniscent. (i already sent my resume to the NSA)

The latest poll question was "Which do you dislike more, heat or cold?" Here is my analysis of the results.

  • Guatemalans are hypocrites - ranked as the country with the most people who dislike heat, yet the average temperature is in the mid-70s.

  • Portuguese are dumb - ranked last in the accuracy of their predictions, my analysis indicates that all Portuguese are mouth-breathers who probably shouldn't own Wiis in the first place.

  • In general, people are lazy - for nearly every country, the aggregate voting demographic favored temperatures inverse to the actual temperature in that nation. Guatemala, above, is a good example - as is Norway, who was one of the cold countries that hates the cold. Apparently nobody has a passport.

The Wii has been called many things, from a revolution in gaming to antiquated technology, but I find it to be, if nothing else, a way to make fun of foreigners.

J-reezy fo sheezy:

I think it has to do with the "grass is always greener" complex. I wish I lived somewhere with seasons, but I bet the first time I drove in snow, I would miss the days of a slight frost on my grass being the worst of my worries. But there's a bunch of Guatemalans at my work and yes, they're hypocrites.
